Who is this for?

This course is for 11 to 15-year-old students who have not participated in an ISCA programme.

What will you learn?

This course will take you on a 2,000-year journey of English history, from the Roman invasion in AD 43, right up to the role of Queen Elizabeth II and the Monarchy today.

We will meet key historical figures including William the Conqueror, King John, King Henry VIII, William Shakespeare, Queen Victoria and many more.

The course focuses on experiential discovery, learning about these key figures and historical events by visiting the places they influenced, with virtual walking tours, class discussions and research projects.

In addition, each student will share a presentation on their country and culture. This will help our students to develop an understanding of global cultures as well as improve public speaking, presentation skills, listening skills and cultural awareness.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Know your way around London and understand the importance of its key landmarks.
  • Investigate English history and culture, including Roman England, life in the Middle Ages, the Tudor era and the role of the Monarchy.
  • Explore the life and works of William Shakespeare, and his legacy today.
  • Discover key figures in English history.
  • Understand different cultures and interact with students from across the world in our global classroom environment.
