Who is this for?

This course is for parents, teachers and family who are interested in discovering more about William Shakespeare.

What will you learn?

In this session we will explore the life of the Bard of Avon, William Shakespeare. We will virtually tour his birthplace, his family home and his school, all in Stratford-upon-Avon, before going to Elizabethan London to see his life on the stage.

We will reflect on Shakespeare’s Comedies, Histories and Tragedies, learn how they were staged at The Globe Theatre and talk about the acting company he was part of, which was initially called the Lord Chamberlain’s Men and later became The King’s Men.

We will also discuss Shakespeare’s legacy, the relevance of his works today and see whether his good friend and fellow playwright, Ben Jonson, was correct in saying,

“He was not of an age but for all time…”
